Nonostante la giovane età, Marta Schiavi ha già conseguito nel corso della sua attività sportiva tre titoli italiani ed è stata più volte vicecampionessa a livello europeo e mondiale. Il titolo iridato è stato conquistato a Pomezia nel novembre scorso. Un risultato ottenuto anche a fronte di un infortunio al ginocchio subito poche settimane prima della competizione.

MOTIV BTK randomized trial met primary efficacy endpoint, with early and sustained clinical benefit in a complex patient population 

SAN DIEGO, April 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — REVA Medical, LLC today announced primary endpoint results from the MOTIV BTK randomized pivotal clinical trial evaluating the MOTIV® sirolimus-eluting bioresorbable vascular scaffold in patients with critical limb-threatening ischemia (CLTI). The results were presented today at the Charing Cross International Symposium in London, UK. 

The MOTIV BTK trial met both its primary safety and efficacy endpoints, demonstrating that the MOTIV scaffold provides a statistically significant improvement in clinical outcomes compared to the current standard of care, balloon angioplasty. 

Results of the one-year MOTIV BTK clinical trial showed: 

The trial enrolled a complex CLTI population, including a high proportion of Rutherford 5 patients and challenging lesion characteristics representative of real-world disease. 

“Patients with critical limb-threatening ischemia have limited treatment options and face a high risk of limb loss and mortality,” said Ehrin Armstrong, MD, MSc, Interventional Cardiology and Vascular Intervention HCA HealthOne Swedish Medical Center, Denver, Colorado and Principal Investigator of the MOTIV BTK trial. “The MOTIV data demonstrate a meaningful and statistically significant improvement over balloon angioplasty, particularly in a complex patient population.” 

CLTI is the most severe form of peripheral artery disease, affecting millions of patients worldwide and often leading to severe pain, non-healing wounds, and amputation. Balloon angioplasty remains a primary treatment option in the U.S., but long-term vessel patency remains a significant challenge. The MOTIV bioresorbable scaffold is designed to open blocked arteries, support the vessel during healing, and then gradually be reabsorbed by the body, restoring the vessel without leaving a permanent implant. 

In addition, the MOTIV scaffold is designed with full radiopacity, enabling physicians to directly visualize the scaffold during implantation and optimize placement in complex below-the-knee anatomy.

Thanks to its fully automated application, it can be seamlessly integrated into existing production lines. With a tape width of only 2 mm, it enables exceptionally narrow display bezels similar to those seen in smartphones. 

At the same time, the bond can be detached as required. Display assemblies can be selectively replaced or reworked during production or service without replacing the entire display module.

I destinatari dei provvedimenti sono due cittadini di origine albanese e tre italiani. Secondo quanto ricostruito dagli investigatori della Squadra Mobile, al vertice del sodalizio figurava un uomo di nazionalità albanese, per il quale si sono aperte le porte del carcere cittadino. Un ruolo all’interno della rete era ricoperto anche dalla sua compagna, finita agli arresti domiciliari. I tre indagati italiani, invece, fungevano da corrieri e logisti: il loro compito era quello di stoccare e confezionare la droga in nascondigli individuati per l’occasione, per poi recapitarla ai clienti spostandosi a bordo di varie automobili.

Il gruppo non si limitava a soddisfare le richieste dei singoli consumatori, ma operava anche come fornitore per le reti dello spaccio al minuto. Le indagini della Sezione Antidroga hanno infatti documentato come la banda rifornisse quotidianamente i pusher nordafricani attivi in specifiche aree cittadine, in particolare nelle zone di Saione e Campo di Marte.

L’inchiesta, partita nell’agosto del 2025, si è avvalsa di intercettazioni telefoniche e ambientali, affiancate da servizi di pedinamento e controllo su strada. Durante questi mesi, i poliziotti hanno arrestato tre persone in flagranza di reato e sequestrato un ingente quantitativo di stupefacenti: 750 grammi di cocaina, mezzo chilo di hashish e un chilo di marijuana. Sotto sequestro sono finiti anche 1.350 euro in contanti, telefoni cellulari e strumentazione per la divisione delle dosi.

Prima dell’esecuzione dei provvedimenti, i cinque indagati sono stati sottoposti a un interrogatorio preventivo davanti al Gip. Contestualmente agli arresti, le forze dell’ordine hanno effettuato delle perquisizioni che hanno permesso di ritrovare ulteriore materiale per il taglio e il confezionamento, oltre a residui di stupefacente, nella disponibilità di uno dei coinvolti.

Al termine delle operazioni, oltre all’indagato trasferito nella Casa Circondariale di Arezzo, tre soggetti sono stati posti agli arresti domiciliari, mentre un quinto si trovava già sottoposto al medesimo regime restrittivo per un precedente arresto legato sempre a questa inchiesta. Come previsto dall’ordinamento, per tutti i soggetti coinvolti vige la presunzione di innocenza fino all’eventuale condanna in via definitiva.

Quando i militari dell’Arma si sono avvicinati per contestargli la violazione per ubriachezza molesta, la situazione è rapidamente degenerata. Il 44enne, invece di collaborare, ha reagito con estrema aggressività: ha strappato dalle mani del carabiniere il verbale che stava redigendo, ha iniziato a minacciare i militari e si è dato a una precipitosa fuga a piedi tra le vie del centro. Il tentativo di sottrarsi al controllo è durato poco: i carabinieri lo hanno inseguito e bloccato in breve tempo, procedendo al suo arresto.

Oltre alla misura cautelare degli arresti domiciliari, nei confronti dell’uomo è scattato l’ordine di allontanamento immediato dalla zona rossa. La vicenda ha avuto un seguito giudiziario rapido: nella mattinata successiva il tribunale di Massa ha convalidato l’arresto. L’indagato ha avuto modo di esporre la propria versione dei fatti davanti al giudice, che ha poi disposto nei suoi confronti l’obbligo di presentazione alla polizia giudiziaria.

L’intervento rientra in una più ampia strategia di controllo del territorio disposta dal Comando Provinciale dei Carabinieri di Massa Carrara. Nelle ultime giornate, infatti, l’attività di pattugliamento delle aree sensibili dei comuni di Massa e Carrara ha portato all’emissione di altri tre ordini di allontanamento, finalizzati a garantire la sicurezza e il decoro urbano nelle zone dove la vigilanza è stata ulteriormente rafforzata.

Cotton pretreatment is one of the most resource-intensive stages in textile manufacturing. Fibre52® introduces a drop-in, low-temperature pretreatment system that uses ZDHC MRSL v3.1 and OEKO-TEX®-approved chemistries. The process can preserve the natural wax and softness of cotton fiber while eliminating the use of caustic soda and reducing resource intensity compared to conventional pretreatment. 

Since early 2024, Fibre52®’s trials at Shahi progressed through a structured validation process of 5MT, 20MT, and, more recently, 100MT fabric trials. The results demonstrated reductions of approximately 25% in water consumption and 49% in steam consumption compared to conventional pretreatment systems. 

As part of the scale-up roadmap, Shahi plans to transition approximately 25% of its knit processing capacity to the Fibre52® pretreatment system, representing close to 3,000 tons per annum. This marks the shift from controlled trials to industrial adoption within a large, vertically integrated manufacturing environment.

Set within the courtyard of the Padiglione d’Arte Contemporanea (Via Palestro, 14), the installation is anchored by the Bathhouse, a bold brutalist structure that appears to emerge organically from a meadow of seven species of untamed wildflowers, dissolving the boundary between built form and living ecosystem. Drawing inspiration from the bathhouse at Flamingo Estate in California, the 247-square-foot monolithic structure draws on a palette of weathered metals and elemental surfaces. Clad in intonachino plaster that evokes the mineral texture and weight of concrete, the Bathhouse features monumental stained-glass windows by Milan-based artisan Samuele Dossena, filtering light across terracotta-toned surfaces, while Flamingo Estate candles line the walls, enhancing a quiet, calming atmosphere.
